The clever culprit entered the vault via the doggie door. He wore a swashbuckling pirate's costume, complete with a fake wooden leg and eye-patch.
As he made his escape from the top-secret vault, the Jack Russell was scared by a sudden noise and dropped a half-eaten doggie muffin.
The eyewitness was found in the dog-friendly B&B next door. It soon came out, however, that she'd napped through the entire incident.
